The lab offers formal laboratory based diagnostic services for respiratory related disease.
Tests include spirometry, lung volumes (plethysmography), gas exchange and respiratory muscle strength. Patients who would benefit from a respiratory test are those with a chronic or persistent cough, shortness of breath (with or without exertion), smoking history, history of exposure to dusts, chemicals or vapours, or an abnormal chest x-ray/CT scan.
The Lung Lab (formal laboratory based diagnostic services for respiratory related diseases) Testing will be conducted by our respiratory scientist Jane Fusi every Tuesday fortnight. The test will include formal diagnosis of asthma, COPD, gas exchange, lung volumes and respiratory muscle strength testing for musculoskeletal and neurological diseases.
